North American Czech-Slovak Heritage: Moravians

In this episode of North American Czech-Slovak Heritage, we delve into the fascinating story of the Moravians, a group whose missionary efforts significantly shaped early American history. Establishing a missionary center in North America was the primary concern of the Moravians who settled in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 1741. Driven by a profound sense of spiritual duty, they believed that every member's spiritual core needed continual support to be effective missionaries. The Moravian Church in North America is part of the worldwide Moravian Church Unity, dating back to the first Moravian missionaries' arrival in the United States in 1735 from their Herrnhut settlement in present-day Saxony, Germany.
